There is a total of four stages a consumer experiences when making a purchase. The four stages are attention, interest, desire, and action. When a consumer is deciding, there are many factors that come into play that conveys to the company/organization on certain demographics through the process.
First stage is attention. Catching the attention of your consumer is crucial to this process. With vibrant colors, edgy letters, enthusiastic actors within the advertisement forces your target audience to be more curious.
Second stage is interest. Once the audience is dragged into the product/service, it needs to find a personal connection. This connection can lean toward their way of living or what they truly desire for the future.
Third stage is desire. The desire to purchase a product/service all comes down to if the consumer feels an emotional connection to what the brand represents. The target audience may say to themselves, “I see myself being loyal to this product, especially the brand that represents it”.
The last stage is action. When all the previous steps have been achieved, all it takes is the initiative of the consumer to make a purchasing decision. Simply purchasing the product and staying connected to the brands mission statement and future projects represents a successful AIDA Model.
The consumer experience is like no other. It occurs so quickly that it will almost feel natural throughout the entire process, when it is a combination of micro decisions and emotions.
